Job Advert Summary:
Rand Water is looking for an Instrumentation Technician who will be responsible for all instrumentation work on site
namely new installations, repairs, periodic maintenance, projects, troubleshooting and fault-finding.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Qualified Instrument Mechanician (N3), with trade test (red seal) and Courses/training on PLC and SCADA
  • 3 years’ practical instrumentation maintenance experience
  • 2 years’ electrical and mechanical general maintenance knowledge an added advantage
  • 3 years’ supervisory experience
  • 2 years’ experience with P&I drawings is compulsory
  • 3 years’ experience with testing equipment (multimeter, signal simulators, pressure, level, density
    Flow calibration equipment)

Primary Duties:

  • Unsupervised maintenance of plant and equipment (repairs, planned maintenance, trouble shooting and inspections)
  • Ensuring PLCs, SCADA and all other control instrumentation are working correctly
  • Identifying, reporting and ordering store requirement (all spares)
  • Supervision of Workshop Assistant/s
  • Generating and motivating of Instrumentation periodic and supplementary budgets
    Coordinating site project work
