Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Requirements: N3/Matric or NQF Level 4 and Millwright trade certificate.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience related to maintenance of wastewater treatment plants.
- Experience of working with transformers, rotating machinery, and LV process plant would be advantageous.
- Willingness to work long work hours.
- Computer literacy.
- Must have minimum Code 8 driver’s licence and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test.
Primary Duties:
- To replace and / or repair defective electrical & mechanical components and devices at wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and potable water care works.
- To test the plant and equipment to assess operating functionality and safety.
- To perform preventative, Adhoc break down/emergency and schedule shutdown maintenance.
- Ensure that internal transactional documentary (time sheets, log sheets and equipment progress reports) and related forms and timeously and accurately completed.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Rand Water’s procedures and/or procedures in large bureaucratic organisations.
- Millwright / Electro-Mechanician Engineering related to wastewater operations and maintenance.
- Related legislation.
- OHS Act.
