Minimum Requirements

• N6/National Diploma in Instrumentation or light current engineering.
• Must have Trade Test in Instrumentation.
• 5 Years Post-Trade Test Instrumentation Experience.
• Water Quality metering, Process control knowledge as well as PLC literacy.
• Availability to do standby duties for instrumentation.
• Computer literacy.
• Code 08 driver’s license and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 driving test.

Primary Duties

• Fault finding and trouble shooting in the plants and equipments.
• Update and maintain the history and records of plant equipments.
• Verbal report to be given on all breakdowns, possible causes of failure to be analysed and reported in writing.
• Attending to all plant breakdowns, including afterhours.
• Co-ordination and implementation of projects by checking all installations, to comply with the station requirement.
• Co-ordinate new installations, monitor new equipments to meet acceptable Rand Water standards
• Provide technical guidance and back-up to maintenance personnel.
