Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 coupled with a recognized trade test as a Boilermaker/Welder
• 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in Boiler making/Welding environment.
• A valid Code B Driver ‘s license and the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test.
• Experience in using a variety of welding equipment and procedures such as TIG, MMA etc. is essential.

Primary Duties

• Carry out installation/assembling of plant and equipment by using welding equipment.
• Developing and fabrication of plant equipment using innovative ideas and improved efficiency.
• Developing, profiling, fabrication, assembling, servicing and installing of plant and equipment.
• Receiving job cards and planning of job by ensuring that the correct material is obtained from Stores.
• Measuring and cutting of material to precision measurements using the available plant and equipment.
• General Housekeeping.

• Welding/Boiler making processes, procedures and techniques.
• X-ray welding/Coded welding

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
