Matric results results will be released on Friday the 19th
The Minister of the Department of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga will announce the National Senior Certificate (NSC) results on Thursday, 18 January 2024, whilst individual results will be released on Friday the 19th. Matrics will have until 2 February 2024 for both manual and online applications for remarks.
It’s time for the Matriculants to receive their Matric results. We are all rooting for you! Although it was a tough year for the Matriculants, they still managed to complete the school year. Here’s how to receive your matric results.
Be the first to receive your Matric results. There are various ways which you can view your matric results. so here is information on the different ways you can view your Matric results.
How To Retrieve Your Matric Results on The Phone
- SMS your ID number and exam number to 35658. Both numbers must have 13 digits to be accepted, and there is a once-off cost of R3 to register. Once registration is completed, results will be delivered by SMS when they are released.
- Use the USSD service by dialling *120*35658#. After answering multiple questions, enter your ID number. You’ll receive your results per subject after you have completed the process. You’ll have the option to opt in or out to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act. USSD rates apply.
Online
- Visit the Department of Education website and visit their matric results page.
- Enter your examination number and other personal details required, such as your ID number.
- Click the search button and your results will come up.
School
You can visit your High School on the day that matric results are released to view your matric results. Matric results should be available from 11:00 am.
Newspaper
Various Newspaper companies have made the matric results available to view through different forms of media. Matriculants can check the newspaper and search for their exam number or they could visit the newspaper’s website and navigate to the matric results tab. They will need to fill in their matric exam number and school name to view their matric results on the newspapers website.

- The results reflected on this website are the results of the individual subjects written in the 2023 Senior Certificate midyear examinations, and DO NOT include the results of the National Senior Certificate midyear examinations.
- Only candidates who wrote and are resulted in six or more subject will obtain a result status, otherwise the status will be reflected as “Incomplete”.
- The Statement of Results will be available at the centres from 7 August 2023.
- Some subject or candidate results may be excluded from the results published on this website, because of technical reasons. Please enquire at centre where you wrote or at your district/provincial office.
- The Department of Basic Education reserves the right to change any of the information published on this website.
IMPORTANT: The next opportunity to complete or improve your results is in May/June 2024. You can register online or at a district office from 1 October 2023 to 9 February 2024. Admission requirements are on the reverse side of your Statement of Results.
