Position Purpose:

The provision of labor as directed by supervisor in order to ensure a safe and clean working environment or optimized cargo operation.

Position outputs:

• Cleaning of operational equipment (such as ship to shore cranes, windows, cranes and Cabins etc.)
•  Inspection of container condition.
• Reefer monitoring operations.
• Opening and closing of rail wagons twist locks.
• Loading, offloading and stacking of cargo in compliance of the standard operating procedures.
• Hooking/unhooking.
• Tarping/untarping where applicable.
• Place/removed damage.
• Cleaning of operational environment, rail, truck, workshop, offices, Shed sand ablution facilities as instructed.
• Complete applicable i.e. accident report.
• Identification of correct cargo handling equipment/ tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Matric with minimum of 2 years experience as port worker/ general worker

KNOWLEDGE

• Terminal Layout.
• Safety.
• Stack Positions.

• Attention to detail.
• Cleanliness.
