Special 350 Covid-19 Grant Extension

Beneficiaries of the temporary COVID-19 SRD grant are asked to use the SRD website for services such as correction of names, cancellation of the grant, appeal outcome of the declined application, and changing of bank details.

Correction of names

  • If your SRD Grant application was declined due to incorrect names and surname information being used in the application, you may request that your information be updated via the SRD website.
  • Please make sure that you enter your ID Number, names and surname exactly as it appears on your South African ID. Your details will only be updated if it matches your details on the Department of Home Affairs database
  • All you have to do is click here and scroll down to “Request Names and Surname Update”.

Cancellation of the grant

  • You are welcome to cancel your grant application if your conditions change so that you no longer need or qualify for the special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant

Appeal outcome of the declined application

  • If your application was declined for any period and in that time you had no income, you are welcome to submit an application to be reconsidered.

  • Change bank details
  • If you have been approved for the SASSA SRD R350 Grant and you wish to change your bank details, click here and scroll down to “How do I change my banking details”.
  • You will receive an SMS, stating a secure link with which you registered during your application.

Click on the link in the SMS and carefully follow the instructions.

  • Please ensure that you own the account if you select payment into a bank account. SASSA will not be able to pay your social grant into another person’s bank account.
  • Should you select the money transfer option via one of the major banks, please ensure that the mobile phone number on which you received the SMS is registered in your name. SASSA cannot pay your grant into a mobile phone number which is registered to another person.
  • Please also note that the new banking details will only be used for future payments, after verification.
