The appointee should:

• Have Grade 12 or Equivalent.
• Be Certified Competent as Auto Electrician.
• Passed Maintenance Modules on all excavation equipment.
• English literate (speak, read and write).
• Must be able to do standby and overtime.
• Must be familiar with risk assessments procedures.
• Valid driving license code 08.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.

Key responsibilities:

Supports the achievement of production performance

• Obtain daily and weekly work instructions from the Engineering Foreman.
• Prepare and plan work priority list and resource requirements in order to complete tasks.
• Ensure that all resources requirements are communicated to the Engineering Foreman in order to complete allocated work orders.
• Inform the relevant Supervisor when work is being conducted in the area of responsibility.
• Assist the Safety Officer in completing safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for area.
• Compile a accurate shift/work order reports.
• Ensure that technical data is accurate.
• Complete requisitions for stock items required.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customers.
• Complete the necessary job cards relating to the task done including and description of work and spares used.
• Participate in required meetings including safety.
• Accurately complete role administration requirements.
• Ensure the safe and proper running of all machinery and equipment is conducted.
• Ensure that any operational problem that is encountered is reported even if outside immediate area of responsibility.
• Available for afterhours standby duty.

Maintain the equipment to standard

• Ensure that all planned maintenance schedules and work orders are accurately completed.
• Ensure that all work conducted is performed to the required standards and specifications.
• Ensure that all safety and legal requirements are carefully followed.
• Identify opportunities to improve operations.
• Participation in improvement projects.
• Support efforts to overcome operational problems.
• Identify risks and threats to the process proactively.
• Ensure that the correct tools are used to complete tasks.
• Ensure that materials and equipment are available for the shifts requirements in the area.
• Communicate equipment defects to the relevant Supervisor or Engineering Foreman via notifications.
• Ensure that employees have clear work expectations and plans.
• Ensure that employees work in a safe environment.
• Supervise allocated multi-task team member in order to complete assigned work tasks or orders.
• Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is always worn.
• Complete and sign off all allocated orders.
