POSITION DESCRIPTION: HR Officer: Industrial Relations (D-Lower)
REPORTING TO: HR MANAGER
DIRECT REPORTS: None

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • Manages and implements the industrial and employee relations practices, processes and polices in compliance with relevant regulatory, legislative and company requirements.
  • Compiles and submits relevant reports and management information.
  • Supports and guides mine management and contractors on industrial and employee relations matters to support strategic and operational decision making.
  • Engages with union stakeholders to facilitate a functional and mutually beneficial relationship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Honours degree in Human Resources/ Labour Law or equivalent (NQF 7).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION/S

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources/ Labour Law or equivalent (NQF 8).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • 5 years’ experience within an industrial/ employee relations specialist role.
  • Must have experience within an unionised environment.
  • Mining experience is essential.
