The Services SETA invites Employers and Unemployed Graduates to express interest in participating in The PowerX², a national internship initiative that places 20 000 university and TVET graduates into structured 24-month workplace exposure opportunities across South Africa, part of the Services SETA 20 000 Internships 24 Months initiative.

This initiative strengthens the bridge between education and work by connecting graduates to real workplaces while enabling employers to build future talent pipelines.

All qualification fields will be considered and matching will be based on employer needs.

Employers across South Africa including private companies, public entities, municipalities, government departments and non-governmental organisations that can provide structured workplace opportunities are invited to participate.

Eligible hosts include:

• Private companies.
• Public entities and government departments.
• Municipalities.
• Non-profit organisations.
• Universities and TVET colleges (as host sites).

Employers must:

• Be COIDA-registered.
• Demonstrate OHS-compliant workplace readiness.
• Commit to hosting interns for 24 months.
• Provide workplace site details for matching.
• Complete the Employer Expression of Interest Form.
• Participate in PMU-driven monitoring and reporting.
• All qualification fields will be matched according to employer needs.

Graduates are invited to apply if they meet the following criteria:

• Completed an NQF Level 4–7 qualification at a public university or TVET college.
• Unemployed at the time of application.
• Available to participate in a 24-month internship.
• Willing to be matched to workplaces based on demand and opportunity availability.
• Submit the Graduate Expression of Interest Form.

Required Documents – Employers:

1. CIPC registration document.
2. SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN.
3. CSD summary report.
4. COIDA registration / Letter of Good Standing.
5. OHS compliance evidence.
6. List of workplace sites.
7. Physical address of each hosting site.
8. ID of authorised representative.

Required Documents – Graduates

1. Certified ID copy.
2. Certified qualification or statement of results.
3. Updated CV.
4. Proof of residence.
5. Bank confirmation letter.

Submission Process

1. Select the relevant Expression of Interest category (Employer or Graduate).
2. Complete the online EOI form.
3. Receive automatic confirmation with:

• A reference number.
• A secure upload link.
• A list of required documents.
