SASOL Fire Fighter Jobs Although this position is advertised as Leading Fire Fighter, the position can be filled at the required Fire Fighter grade according to the Fire Fighter career guide.

Purpose of Job: Support and maintain operational activities, support applicable legal requirements and processes of Emergency Management and Sasol’s strategic objectives.

• To ensure timeous effective response to emergency incidents, on- and off site and thus ensuring the protection of Sasol properties and its employees and other property as per mutual aid agreements.
• Handling of Fire, Explosions, Ambulance, Releases and environmental emergency incidents, on- and off site.
• Ensure that emergency equipment and vehicles are readily available at all times
• To ensure the station, vehicles and equipment are kept and maintained in a state of cleanliness.
• Ensure that all communication tools are functional.

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

• Emergency response and mitigation activities performed safely and effectively.
• Respond to all emergency call outs and requests.
• Respond to standby call-outs when requested.
• Support Emergency Management Operations strategy and operating model.
• Ensure site compliance to relevant legislative standards, practices and certification.
• Completing handover and vehicle travel movement sheet for Emergency Management vehicles.
• Completing handover, vehicle checklists and all relevant documentation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 with Mathematical literacy (must).
• Medically fit for firefighting (incl. functional and capacity test/evaluation).
• Code B Drivers licence with PrDP (must).
• First Aid level 3 (Advantage).
• Basic life support qualification/BAA – Registered with H.P.C.S.A (Advantage).
• IFSAC International Fire Service accreditation congress – Firefighter 1 (Advantage).
• HAZMAT Awareness level (Advantage).
