- A Grade 12 qualification is mandatory; applicants must submit documentary proof of this educational requirement.
- Must possess a valid driving licence for a manual transmission type vehicle and be subjected to and pass a departmental practical driving test.
- Possessing a valid driving license for a manual transmission vehicle is essential. Applicants will be subjected to a rigorous departmental practical driving test to ensure competency behind the wheel.
- Must have no criminal record or pending criminal cases (awaiting trial) and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the MPD at own cost.
- We conduct background checks to ensure candidates have no criminal record or pending cases. Those undergoing the selection process should be ready to undergo fingerprinting by the MPD, at their own expense.
- Applicant who appears on the register for sexual and child offenders as well as those who were dismissed as a result of misconduct in the government will not be considered.
- We take the safety of our community seriously, and therefore, applicants with a history on the sexual and child offender registry, or those dismissed from government positions due to misconduct, will not be eligible for consideration.
- Must be a South African citizen and resident of the City of Tshwane metropolitan area (attach proof of residence and affidavit to confirm address if the surname differs from the registered owner).
- As part of the application process, proof of South African citizenship and residency within the City of Tshwane metropolitan area must be provided. If there is a discrepancy in surnames, an affidavit confirming current residence must accompany the application.
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

- Must not have any tattoo marks which will be visible when wearing any uniform of the service

Primary Functions: The successful candidates will serve as essential metro police officials responsible for upholding and enforcing the National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996). This role is critical as it directly impacts the safety and security of our road users and the community at large.
As such, they will be deployed to carry out one or more of the following municipal police service functions:
