Total monthly package: R15, 157.08

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector (MMS) in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998. The MQA invites applications for the above-mentioned position which currently exists within the MQA.

The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager.

Key Performance Areas

The successful candidate will provide financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.

Job description

  • Perform the day to day processing of financial transactions;
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures;
  • Prepare, verify, and process invoices and coding payment documents;
  • Prepare batches of invoices for data entry;
  • Data enter invoices for payment;
  • Process documents for electronic payments;
  • Process backup reports after data entry;
  • Maintain listing of accounts receivable and payable;
  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger;
  • Maintain updated vendor files and file numbers;
  • Provide administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations;
  • Maintain a filing system for all financial documents;
  • Assist with the management of the external and internal audits;
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial files; and
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum requirements

  • Matric/ Grade 12 and a post matric qualification in a Finance Related Field;
  • Two (2) years’ relevant experience in financial administration. Financial consulting and Auditing will be an added advantage;
  • Demonstrable experience in financial administration;
  • Sound knowledge of Accounting Principles;
  • Demonstrable experience in MS Office (MS Word, MS Projects, MS Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook);
  • Understanding of Great Plains Accounting Software will be an added advantage;
  • Understanding of the PFMA, skills development legislations and relevant accounting standards will be an added advantage.
