Performs tasks associated with maintenance functions within the facilities maintenance branch, including ensuring the safety of the public, staff and assets.

This post reports to SUPERVISOR (FACILITIES MAINTENANCE)

Key Responsibility Areas

• Inspecting, maintaining and repairing of buildings, fixtures and fittings, office furniture and roadways.
• Inspecting, servicing, maintaining and repairing of equipment (equipment, mobile equipment, tools and machinery).
• Inspecting, servicing, maintaining and repairing electrical components.
• Adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
• Monitoring stock and replenishment of consumables.
• Conducting general maintenance and cleaning.

Essential Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12.
• Valid motor vehicle drivers license (Code B).
• 12 Months relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

• Matric/Grade 12 plus relevant certificate accredited by SAQA.
• 18 Months relevant experience.
  Special Conditions: Working hours: 40 hours, 6 days a week.
  Physical Requirements: The physical attributes required for the performance of tasks associated with specific key performance areas in this post necessitates that the incumbent be physically fit and bale bodied.
