The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to administer applications in terms of traffic legislation relating to events on provincially proclaimed roads, exemptions from legal requirements and abnormal load permits / vehicle registration. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification).
Recommendation
- Appropriate administrative experience; Proven computer literacy.
Key Performance Areas
- Administer applications for events on provincially proclaimed roads: Sporting events and filming events; Administer applications for exemptions from legal requirements (e.g. seatbelt wearing); Administer applications for abnormal load permits / vehicle registrations.
Competencies
- Knowledge of the following: National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996) and the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000, National Traffic Information System (NaTIS), Proven computer literacy in MS Office packages; Good written and verbal communication skills.
