SAYouth Teacher Assistant Phase V

The SA Youth Mobi program, specifically targeting unemployed youth between 18 and 34 years old, offers opportunities to work as teachers’ assistants in schools. These positions, part of the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI), are intended to provide a public employment intervention. To be eligible, individuals need to be between 18 and 34, have a South African ID, and live within a specified radius of the school. 

Stipend and Duration

Successful candidates for the SAYouth Teacher Assistant Jobs will receive a stipend of R4,000 per month (before deductions). The program runs from June 2025 to November 2025, providing an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience.

Eligibility and Application:
  • Age:

    You must be between 18 and 34 years old. 

  • South African ID:

    You need a South African (or refugee) identity document, or a valid work permit. 

  • Location:

    You must live within a 5 km radius of the school (or 30 km for small, micro, or farm schools). 

  • Application:

    Register on SAYouth.mobi and search for school assistant positions or the nearest school. 

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting teachers with various tasks, including classroom instruction, records, and assignments.
  • Leading small group discussions or individual conferences with students.
  • Providing support to students with disabilities in the classroom.

  • Application Closing: 9 May 2025
  • Interviews: 19 May 2025 – 31 May 2025
  • Job Start Date: 2 June 2025
  • Job End Date: 30 November 2025
