Sasol Driver Jobs in Secunda – To primarily assist in execution of transportation of goods and equipment using company vehicles in a safe manner and in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act (NRTA) and Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences act (AARTO) regulations – and of such vehicles being extra heavy duty drop side, flatbed, lowbed and trucks with a truck-mounted crane, vehicles. To Assist the Extra Heavy-Duty Driver and Transport Coordinator with project related activities through execution of all goods and equipment requests, during both routine and non-routine operational activities to ensure optimal driver and vehicle usage and availability for the transportation operation. To engage fully in all company safety initiatives in order to maintain a safe working environment.
City / Town: Secunda
In the case where household waste removal is part of Heavy Transport operations, then this driver position will also be responsible for assisting the transportation of the household waste by use of waste removal vehicles such as trash compactors and skip trucks.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Know and correctly use the safety equipment on the vehicle, following correct safety procedures.
- Correct use of PPE.
- Check to ensure vehicle is constantly in a road worthy condition and record / report defects according to K53 guidelines.
- Perform daily vehicle pre-trip inspection according to a standard checklist and report defects.
- Follow instructions according to job requirements.
- Daily activities executed according to plan.
- Comply to site operational requirements and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all rules and regulations.
- Attend training courses and seminars as per training matrix to improve competency and skills.
- Identify unsafe conditions and take precautionary measures.
- Report unsafe conditions / situations.
Formal Education
- Grade 12 / N3 certificate.
Min Experience
- Minimum 2 years total relevant driving experience in the Sasol Transport environment.
- Minimum 4 years total relevant driving experience in the non-Sasol Transport environment.
- Minimum Drivers Licence of Code C1 (Code EC wish) with a valid PrDP.
