The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) invites suitably qualified applicants to Register on The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) EPWP Database. The closing date for applications is the 5th April 2024.

The Mandela Bay Development Agency NPC (MBDA) Mandate is to provide urban renewal services on behalf of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality.

Urban renewal as envisioned by the MBDA will encompass aspects pertaining security and cleanliness of precincts and mandate areas. The MBDA hereby invites unemployed people residing within the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro and in particular the Uitenhage and PE CBD areas to register on the MBDA EPWP unemployed Database.

The incumbent (s) would have the following Key Responsibilities & Performance Areas:

GENERAL WORKERS:

  • Street Cleaning, litter picking, sweeping of street and paved areas.
  • Illegal dumping, cleaning and skip residues.
  • Cleaning gardens.
  • Cutting of grass.
  • Any other work as prescribed by the MBDA or its shareholder/client.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10.
  • Physically Fit.
  • 0-1-year experience.

SURVEY DATA COLLECTORS:

  • Provide Data Capturing activities.
  • Assist with completeness of Data.
  • Ensure Office Administration and Ensure
    Document Control.
  • Any other work as prescribed by the MBDA or its shareholder/client.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Physically Fit.
  • 0 – 1 year work experience in any industry, however students holding a formal qualification will have an advantage.
  • Under 35.

SAFETY PATROLLERS:

  • Performing routine security and public safety patrols in and around the MBD Mandate/precinct.
  • Controlling access and exit of pedestrians and vehicles to MBDA premises.
  • Assisting with the enforcement of By-Laws and safety measures.
  • Any other work as prescribed by the MBDA or its shareholder/client.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10.
  • Grade C and B Security qualification will be an advantage.
  • Registration with PSIRA will be an advantage.
  • Physically Fit.
  • 0-1-year work experience in the security industry or related industry.
