Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:

Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree and studying towards an Honours in one of the following fields:

• Public Administration/Management or Governance.
• Economics/Development Studies.
• Political Science.
• Social Science.

Duties:

• Observe and participate in the analysis departmental reports.
• Observe and participate in the conducting of field work and independent verification.
• Observe and provide support/assistance to researchers on the implementation of SOM imperatives.
• Observe and participate in conducting proactive fieldwork.
• Observe and participate in any other research projects.
• Observe and participate in the writing of proactive research papers and Policy Brief articles.
• Observe and participate in developing stakeholder database.
• Observe and participate in maintenance Stakeholder database.
• Observe and participate in the preparation of individual reports (Monthly and Quarterly reports).
• Attend to any other relevant and reasonable tasks within the research unit as may be required from time to time.

Notes:

• Applicants must be South African citizens.
• Applicant must be between the age of 18-35.
• To align with employment equity targets and ensure that diversity is maintained at the GPL, preference will be given to People living with disability, Coloured, White and Indian applicants.
• Must have no previous criminal convictions or pending cases.
• Applicants must be unemployed, and never employed in the field of the advertised post and never participated in an Internship Programme before.
• It remains the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
