Introduction

  • Draughtsperson Survey – Projects, to be based at our Venetia Decline Mine near Musina Limpopo. The
  • successful candidate will report to the Planning Manager. The company will provide remuneration and
  • benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged
  • South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

  • Cost containment through efficient draughting of mine designs and scheduling in line with survey / mine planner information.
  • Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure timeous and smooth workflows.
  • Effective translation of measurements and production data integration into 3D mine designs and workable mine layouts
  • Effective risk identification and mitigation of information generated, with issues being effectively and timeously addressed / escalated to management.
  • Demonstrate willingness to share knowledge and mentor, coach and/or guide others where required Receive.
  • Geologist reports and incorporate into the mine design (mineral resource management).
  • Attend and participate in weekly planning and review meetings.

Minimum requirements

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills

  • Grade 12 certificate or NQF level 4 equivalent.
  • Draughting Diploma or similar qualification.
  • Elementary Survey Certificate (preferred).
  • Proficient in AutoCad, MicroStation, 3D Reshaper or similar 3D Mine Design software.
  • Proficient in MS packages (MS Projects, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Exposure to Deswick Mine Planning software advantageous.
  • Proficient in English both verbal and written.
  • Expert at converting information received from the Mine Planner / Surveyor into workable mine designs  /layouts using mine design software, including 3D design software.

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in underground mine development.
  • At least 4 years of experience working as a Survey Draughtsperson with hands-on underground, metalliferous mine design experience in a 3D environment (MicroStation, AutoCAD etc,
  • Experience in converting mine designs into workable mine layouts.
  • Working knowledge of concepts and principles of integrated mine layouts and designs.
  • General knowledge of surveying and mine planning.
