50 x Fire Fighters on a Fixed Term Contract.

PURPOSE

Why Consider the NCC: 50 Fire Fighters Vacancies?

To form part of a wildland fire fighting team responsible for delivering fire prevention, fire suppression, and emergency response tasks across various operational bases in the Western Cape.

JOB OUTPUTS

  • Perform fire-fighting duties:
    • Direct & indirect attack, mop-up, and observation.
  • Execute fire prevention operations:
    • Alien plant clearing, irrigation setup, public fire education.
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Attend training sessions to maintain required competency levels.
  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness.
  • Participate in standby shifts as scheduled.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Age 18 years or older.
  • Must be available for shift work and standby duties.
  • No criminal record (verification required).
  • High level of physical fitness and good health.
  • Must pass a Physical Fitness Assessment and Occupational Health Practitioner Evaluation.
  • Able to work under pressure and in high-stress environments.
  • Must comply with the NCC Group’s Alcohol, Drug, and Substance Use Policy.
  • Strong team player with excellent observation skills.

SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES

Shortlisted candidates will be required to successfully complete the following as part of the recruitment process:

  • Physical Fitness Assessment (Pack test: Distance: 4.8 km | Pack weight: 20 kg | Time: under 45 minutes)
  • Criminal record check.
