  • A minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic security course, i.e Grade C with renewed PSIRA certificate with a minimum of one year appropriate experience in security industry.
  • Knowledge of access control procedures to the public premises and vehicles Act 53 of 1985, trespass Act 06 of 1959, MISS, MPSS, OHSA Act of 83 of 1993, mental health Act, criminal procedure Act, PSIRA act, PFMA, Batho-pele principles and ministerial quality priorities for Health.
  • Have a good interpersonal skill.
  • No criminal record or pending cases, and the candidate must be able to work shifts, that includes weekends, public holidays and night shifts.
  • Be able to work independently and as a team.
  • Be able to work with different patients within the hospital, including mental health patients.
  • Previous experience in the public service will serve as an added advantage.

Disarming and storage of firearms in designated lockable and compliant storage in line with control of firearms act.

Only shortlisted candidates will be required/requested to submit certified copies of qualifications, service certificate and other relevant documents on or before the interview. Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserve the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
