South African National Defence Force (SANDF) The SANDF is the military of South Africa, responsible for defending the country and its interests.
The SANDF consists of four arms:
- South African Army.
- South African Air Force.
- South African Navy.
- South African Military Health Service.
Military Skills Development System (MSDS)
The MSDS is a two-year voluntary service system for young South Africans who want to join the SANDF. The program aims to equip participants with military skills, discipline, and leadership abilities.
Benefits of MSDS:

- Education and skills development: Participants can study towards a national diploma or degree while serving in the MSDS.
- Leadership development: Participants develop leadership and management skills.

Requirements:
- Age: 18-22 years old (23-25 years old for graduates).
- Citizenship: South African citizen.
- Education: Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Medical fitness: Medically fit

Qualifications:
- RSA Citizen (No Dual Citizenship).
- 18 – 22 Years of Age (Successfully Completed Grade 12.
- 18 – 26 (3 Years Tertiary Qualification or N6) When Reporting.
- Minimum Admission Point Score (APS) of 17 Excluding Life Orientation.
- Attach Proof of Residence and /OR Letter From Village Chief.
- Attach CV.
- Copies of ID.
- Matric Certificate (Only Statement of Results For 2024 Will Be Accepted).
- Tertiary Qualification.
